A hobby is something we devote time to without expecting a monetary reward. Hobbies range widely in nature and interest. They help us learn, maintain our mental health, and strengthen our social lives. Additionally, pursuing a hobby can be beneficial for our physical health. Not only does it provide us with entertainment, but it also helps us develop our strengths and weakness.

The many benefits of hobbies are evident from the fact that they're used in everyday speech. Hobbies help us improve at whatever we do and make us more successful in life.
Here are the 7 benefits of having a hobby:-
Improved mental health: Engaging in a hobby can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. It can also provide a sense of accomplishment and boost self-esteem.
Increased creativity: Many hobbies involve creating something, which can help stimulate the mind and encourage creativity.
Better physical health: Some hobbies, such as sports and exercise, can help improve physical health and fitness.
Social connections: Many hobbies provide opportunities to meet new people and build friendships, which can be especially beneficial for those who live alone or who have limited social connections.
Stress relief: Engaging in a hobby can provide a sense of relaxation and allow you to take a break from the stresses of daily life.
Increased knowledge and skills: Hobbies often involve learning new skills, which can be rewarding and help stimulate the mind.

Now, the next question is ‘what sort of hobbies one should have?'
It is important for people to have a hobby or two that helps them to relieve stress, have a purpose and meaning, and help to improve their lives in some way.
Now, in order to achieve these, you can have one or more than one hobby. For example, one can be into reading books in order to gain knowledge and also workout to stay physically & mentally fit.
Let's take another example, imagine someone who spends most of his free time after work watching movies or TV shows. Although movies can reduce stress and relax, do they provide any purpose for the person? Does watching movies all day and night improve his life in any way? Sadly, the answer is 'NO'.
It is important for everyone to have a hobby that gives them purpose and value in their lives. Photography is one of my hobbies, for instance, and it helps me to relieve stress, while also increasing my knowledge, creativity, and skills.
